Product lighting 1

Here is how I lit this shot:

Canon 5DII with Macro f2.8

I used my Apollo 27" softbox with the white cover on, camera right. Flashgun on full power as I was trying to kill all ambient in the room (didn't have a black background ).

2 flashguns on full power through a homemade pringles tube like this -

Camera left pointing vertically as a little fill. Rear flash as a little rim hovering over the camera around 45'.

There is nothing wrong with DIY modifiers, just don't bring them to paid work where clients can see.

Go Karting

My body is bruised and aching after doing the Grand Prix yesterday. Feels like i've been to the gym then got beaten up.

We went to Kartworld in Liskeard, Cornwall. http://www.kartworldcornwall.co.uk/

Nobody caught Chris during the day (who obviously finished 1st) and was consistent.
Third place went to Scott who just beat me to it and secured himself a trophy.
I broke too hard to avoid rear ending 2nd place. I never got the place back so finished 4th in the Final.

The weather couldn't have been better, it was raining in the morning then cleared up warm to heat the track, while having cool air, pretty ideal.

I got the fastest speed of the day, and second fastest lap time with 35.17 (I think) being the best and mine next at 35.70. But that didn't mean anything in the grand prix, and could have only stood for bragging rights if it was an 'arrive and drive'.

My beef with Sanders isn't over and I will race him again! His trophy will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

Even little kids are welcome at the track

The reason we went, Chris's Birthday. He came one place behind me finishing 5th I think, possibly 6th I can't remember now

Getting told off warming up the tyres by snaking down the back straight

First corner in, Chris S out front, Craig, Myself with Scotti behind me

I think everyone feels the same today, aching. If not, you didn't try hard enough.

Built not bought

This evening I took a few photos of a friends almost build Mini VTEC on ITBs.
Here is how it looks before being stripped for painting.
